Driveway lights are like a refrigerator with a beverage dispenser; not absolutely necessary, but definitely a nice addition if you have it. Most people use vehicles that have their own headlights so lights are not really needed on your driveway to light the way. Yet, if you see a home that has driveway lighting, it looks like a pearl necklace for a beautiful lady; it completes the picture without in any way overdoing it.
At one time it was a very expensive feature to install driveway lighting not only because of the cost of the lights, but also because you had to install the wiring for them. Plus if you had a number of these lights, or if you had to pull the wires some distance from your home, you even had to install a higher gauge wire to give your current a boost up so that the last bulb does not go dim.
Nowadays it is a very simple thing to do that with solar driveway lighting being readily available. You can choose from sunken lights that shoot pillars of light up into the sky to others that are more akin to stairway lights and still others that are like pollard lights. Only the lights that need to be sunken or installed in any way into your driveway require any work of any sort, the pollard style driveway lights, for example, come with a sharpened stake that just needs to be driven into the ground for it to be installed.
These lights are much preferred simply because if you want to use them for some other purpose all you have to do is to pull them up and transfer them elsewhere. As long as they can get about 4 to 6 hrs. of direct sunlight during the day wherever they are placed they will work well and should last throughout the night. They are able to do this because they come with LED lights that require very little in the form of battery power and so can last a long time. Why you can even set each one so that they come on as soon as it becomes dark so that you don’t have to keep walking over to each light every evening, turning them on.
