Sea Gull Lighting Wins Next Generation Luminaire Award

Sea Gull Lighting's LED Surface Mount Downlight, powered by JuiceWorks, won the 2009 Next Generation Luminaire Award, a prestigious annual competition in the lighting industry. The Next Generation Luminaires (NGL) was created to recognize well-designed, energy-efficient, and attractive solid state lighting that uses a fraction of the electricity of standard incandescent light bulbs, halogen, and high-intensity discharge fixtures. NGL is the result of the partnership between the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, the International Association of Lighting Designers, and the U.S. Department of Energy with the goal of increasing awareness and acceptance of LEDs for general lighting needs.

Sea Gull Lighting's LED Surface Mount Downlight was chosen as the winner of the 2009 NGL Award because of its optic performance and ease of installation. The dimmable LED is an attractive alternative to recessed lighting that can be mounted to a junction box as well as a retrofit version to convert existing recessed lighting to LED.  Sea Gull's LED Surface Mount Downlight is ENERGY STAR qualified and is UL/C-UL listed with a five-year warranty.

This is the first partnership between Sea Gull Lighting and JuiceWorks, a British company that specializes in high performance LED lighting technology for residential and commercial use.
