You may wonder why you would even want something like a headboard light. Most people are content with the traditional bed lamps or maybe wall mounted reading lamps over their beds. Getting headboard lamps seems just a little too much for nothing.

The times when you will miss a headboard lamp however are those times when nothing else will suffice. For example if you have a headboard that has a nice pattern to the light, it will set a romantic atmosphere that nothing can come close to matching. Headboard lighting will not be bright like other lights, but will be dim while relying on a number of small lights to provide adequate lighting. In fact it can even be used as a night light because there is no chance that a light that is behind your head can ever shine into your eyes disrupting your sleep.

Other times when you will like a headboard light is when you are watching TV from your bed at night. Although many people may not want any light on in their bedrooms when they watch TV, having a light coming from behind will give you enough ambient light so that when you do glance around you aren’t totally blind from the glare from the TV, but can still see a few things. This is especially true if you don’t have 20:20 vision.

The most important reason is that it is contemporary. If you are the sort who likes newer designs, then there is no other option than headboard lighting for the bedroom. You can have one bright light for those times when you want that, but nothing else will give your bedroom a contemporary feel that you will get with headboard lamps. Even a chandelier, however contemporary in design, is still a chandelier, which is a very old design, apart from one that everyone else will have too.

Of course getting these lamps is an expensive proposition because most of the time, they come integrated with the headboard which means that you have to get the cot if you want it. This is the only reason why more people do not have one in their homes, but if you are looking for a new bed, and want to go for a really good one, then going for one of these is a very good option because you will have something that you will never regret in your life.
