Who are the Playschool Characters?

Playschool is a television series meant for children. It is one of Australia’s most popular children’s series that airs on ABC, every week day. This series which started in the 60's, continues to be a hit among children the world over. The main aim of playschool is to help children to think outside the box, to teach them to put their thoughts into action and to help them improve their interpersonal and social skills in a fun way.

What are the main playschool characters?

Playschool has many characters; the main ones are the Jemima, little Ted, big Ted and Humpty. These toys are available as cuddles for children to play with and reenact the scenes from the series. The other auxiliary characters include Daisy the cow, Darcy the donkey, Henny Penny the hen, Diddle the cat, Fergus the frog, Maurice another teddy bear, tippy the duck, Sam the sheep, Slush the pig, Scarp the dog, an owl and children characters Meeka, Kim, Lisa and Dan. All these characters together teach children the values that are important in life and help them to be creative individuals.

About the Jemima playschool character

Jemima is one of playschool’s leading characters. She is a girl doll with black hair and two ponytails. She usually wears two bright yellow ribbons on her hair. Adorned with a lively orange tee shirt with yellow borders around the neck and arms, complete with yellow overalls, she is a pretty doll who helps children feel, socialize and learn new things every day.

Itinerary of each episode

Each episode in playschool has a main storyline, filled with a few songs here and there. They help children learn new things by storytelling and giving them ideas and instructions on how to make things. Each episode takes a look at the clock and a look outside the windows, helping children learn while having fun.
The main theme of this program revolves around two adults who give their undivided guidance and attention to a child who is usually one of the playschool characters. They promote the interaction of children, guiding them to be more social and instilling in them the system where valuing one another is essential and necessary.
