Lights for Bathroom

Lighting info brought to you by LightingShowroom.com

Modern bathrooms call for efficient lighting. Gone are the days when bathrooms were merely functional areas of the home. Today a bathroom is a room loaded with modern conveniences, efficient lighting as well as stylish accessories. If your bathroom lighting is not adequate and you would like to change the present lighting, here are some of your options.

Types of bathroom lights

Ceiling lights, recessed lights, spot lights, pendant lights, bathroom island lights, wall sconces, bathroom mirror lights, bathroom shower lights, regular tube lighting, lights with exhaust fans and chandeliers are some of the many options available for lighting up your bathroom. If you are looking to save on your utility bills, go with bulbs or lights such as LEDs or fluorescent lights as opposed to Incandescent bulbs which tend to be not as efficient.

Lights for each area of the bathroom

A bathroom in most cases is differentiated into three main areas when it comes to lighting. They are the general overall area of the bathroom, the area over the mirror and the area over the shower or bathtub. You can get lights for bathroom that are specific to each area of the bathroom or you could get lighting which is capable of lighting up the entire bathroom, depending on your needs. For instance if you don’t want bright lights for your bathroom, you could go with a dim overall light while installing a brighter light where you need it the most like over the bathroom mirror.

Overall lighting for a bathroom

If you are not looking to install lights over each and every area of the bathroom, then go for lights that are bright or powerful enough to light up your entire bathroom. The disadvantage of this is that while the bathroom may be super bright, the mirror and shower area may not have adequate light. Another problem with bright central light is that it may be too harsh, making it very uncomfortable.

Cost of bathroom lights

You can get lights for bathroom as low as $50 and ones that are well over most of our budget ranges. However, the average price range of between $100 and $350, gives you many options that look good while being both cost as well as energy efficient.
